Analog Keys and other Elektron keyboard products being discontinued that add to this perception for sure
if elektron did a polyphonic (per track) sampler/rompler type thing i donāt think i would be alone in purchasing it in a heartbeat
hi! I recently got a Wavestate, second hand. very happy with the thing! Iām mainly having issues with getting it out of the house. I currently use it in a rock band set up, and I need to bring it to the rehearsal room every now and then, but I havenāt found a case where it fits properly. the one available in Thomann at least, has very mixed reviews about it actually fitting or not.
does anybody here has experience with it? I even though of getting a Samsonite case, that by the measurements seems alright, but itās too thrifty for me at the moment - and Iād like something I can carry as a backpack.
Hi, I got the official bag for the wavestate from korg (the one with the camo texture), and it fits alright. I also had my doubts due to the mixed reviews, but honestly i havenāt seen the cons yet. it works. Iāve had them for about four months
Korg Wavestate is no more on Thomann catalog AFAIK, end of life for it?
Indeed, Iāve been wondering about selling mine as Iām not putting the effort to actually create patches with it (it sounds amazing but damn you need time), therefore I was looking up at the retail price and didnāt find it.
Now Iām wondering if I should not keep it just because itās not available there anymore
Or I can relieve you for free of that dead weight, my pleasure
Ahah, thanks for the offer, but my mind is still not settled!
Plus if I come to sell it, I will rather sell it in person in Berlin.
I am sure I can find someone in Berlin to behave as it was myself Joke aside. I always fancied the Wavestate but find it physically to big for the place I had at the time and also, as it will need a dep dive to enjoy the synth. It could be the only synth to play with. In my mind, I saw it as a cheaper/smaller Nord Wave 2 (not sure how wrong I am).
I donāt know the Nord wave to answer this.
I would also prefer to have wavestate in a desktop version (I suck at keys anyway).
Thatās why at one point I was considering replacing it by a Korg minilogue XD module.
Definitely not as broad in terms of sound design, but also much more instant patches creation.
Plus I donāt have any analog synth, and I got the wavestate software back then that I could always sample as I own bot OT and DT.
Soooo many questions in my mind too
The WS seems in stock almost everywhere else but Thomann unlisting it couldd be a warning signā¦
Funny, I just sold mine a few days ago because, to be honest, since getting wavestate native plugin, I actually never turned on the hardware anymoreā¦So much easier to useā¦
Everyone - Hey Korg, we would all love a desktop module.
Korg - No worries, have a 5 octave keyboard version instead and a screen the size of a matchbox!
I swear these companies do not listen to their customers.
the SE looks so goofy lol, like some kinda cute anime version of a chubby wavestate with those big old cheeks. i guess they really wanted to use the same boards or something. the mk2 is kinda nice just because ive been hoping to pick up the og to chop so maybe those used prices will drop a scoatch
My Wavestate was sold to a friend a long time ago in anticipation for the SE version. I am happy that it is finally being released.
Wonder if the extra polyphony is from upgrading the Pi3 inside to a Pi4. If so, can the end user do that for their originals?
They are using Raspberry Compute modules, if indeed mk2 uses Compute module 4, then you canāt just swap them, as they look very different:
Ah nuts.
Missed oportunity to upgrade ease of use/workflow imhoā¦Real estate wastedā¦Economic reasons I supposeā¦
I never touched my original wavestate again as soon as I got ws nativeā¦Programming thru so many windows thru this tiny display was clearly a painā¦
I wonāt get back to the hardware with this iterationā¦But a module version would have been more temptingā¦I never managed to accept to saw off the keybed of mineā¦
