Lend us your ears

Looks cool - I like the keyboard stuff but no Arp by the looks of it.

Feels like when it was paired with the Digitakt and Digitone they were kind of excesssive for what they were providing - and as much as I like the new aesthetic I don’t like that it looks out of place with the other digis :frowning: I assume theyll update them soon with MKII’s

I just can’t hide it …

whoa that fx routing-muting/unmuting/gating is sick

Is there a video (or a location in a video) we can see the modifiers in action?

It’s £849 including shipping and VAT

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I’M GONNA LOVE IT!

Do we know a ship date?

Yeh but is there anything like import duty on top of that?

No - that’s what the VAT is for

If something doesn’t include VAT, then you pay additional tax when you import it which amounts to a VAT charge. If you see a price including VAT you never pay additional tax on top.

(At least this is very much my experience…)

We certain on that? I couldn’t quite confirm it. Rubadub have it on preorder for £799 though if folks are worried.

I still suspect I might get stung with some customs stuff having ordered from Elektron. I couldn’t resist in the end…

No song mode, does this make sense in 2022?

J/K, if I had that much money in my pocket I’d buy it today.

I’m assuming it’s out and shipping right? Not a pre-order?

I suspect you will get a small % of import duty on top to be honest. I was needing some new cables and the bag will be handy so happy to pay a little more than what UK stockists will ultimately charge. Guess I’ll find out. If I get stung for some daft 20% VAT plus import then I’ll just send it back and order in UK!

My invoice suggests it’s preorder :frowning:

I can’t deny he was real good and will be missed.

But I would want my 11yo daughter to feel attracted to electronic music and my machines, and this surely helps.
I feel like it was time we see some ladies in Elektron communication material.

Lol stop spreading misinfo man - you pay ‘import VAT’ at 20%, that’s what the VAT charge is.

If an EU retailer is charging you VAT there are no extra taxes to be applied, big or small.

(At least this is very much my experience…)

i am a bit torn between “nice self contained device, which can do everything” and “but maybe some of those things not good enough?”

Mine says “order was prepaid in accordance with the payment terms.”
Also says “confirmed delivery date 21st April”
So not sure what to make of it!

Same. Preorder for same day delivery?

It isn’t misinformation though. You can pay VAT at source on purchases from the EU and still be charged Import Duty. Elektron themselves warn that the purchaser may be liable (I checked their FAQ). The bit that wasn’t immediately obvious is whether VAT was included in the initial payment and therefore handled as part of the purchase. It wasn’t particularly clear - the site suggested it would be however “Tax” is noted as £0 per my order.

Having seen how much Rubadub are charging on a pre order I’m fairly comfortable that I’ll have some small Import Duty at most to pay when it arrives. If not, then great!

EDIT: (From Elektron) The tax authorities of countries outside the EU sometimes add sales/import tax. If you are unsure of the regulations for your country, please check with the relevant public authority.
