LO-FI-AF - new effect from Unfiltered Audio

I think the Sample Rate Reducer in BYOME is something quite special, so I can only imagine how delicious this will sound!

it looks interesting and i really like ua’s plugins in general. seems to cover the same territory as other software i already own, so i’ll probably wait 6 months and pick it up when it’s $39.99 and i have a $25 off code.

it’s a nice processor. the modules in it make for a really flexible processor. it’s not just another bit reducer. the convolution and spectral stuff alone is going to yield nice results. there’s some unique processing in it. a fresh take on getting things lofi or dirty or destroyed or just slightly gritty.

I just got Byome and Triad and am really digging them so I snatched this up at the $79.99 intro price.

I’m defo interested in this one… between Audio Thing’s Speaker and Plogue’s ChipCrusher you could make an argument that I’m well covered for this. But it’s also a decent shout from @ignatius that there are some unique features… but, yeah, as @303abuser says the inevitable Plugin Alliance sales means that I can hold off… much like I’m doing for Silo by UA.

I managed to wait until thus past weekend to get Silo ans paid $39 for it. But LO-FI-AF? Not sure I an going to hold out past today. too up my alley!

i love silo and wanted enough i bought it at this price point a while back ($79 less the $25 code). i’ll probably make the mistake of watching youtube videos today for lofiaf and post here again tomorrow about how i caved.

Thanks, everyone, for the support! I’m really happy to see that this is being enjoyed. I’ve already watched a few livestreams today, and it’s fun to listen to how many genres that this is being used for.

…i’m always overwhelmed these days, when it comes next new level shit of plugin innovation…
but one of my oldest buddies and most advanced pro audio engineers in my bubble swears on ALL unfiltered audio plugins recently…
and he’s really into mixing big names…really knows what he’s talkin’ about and has seen it all, when it comes to plugins of all kinds and pricetags…

while i’m still fine, finding my way through aaaall options in bitwigs onboard collection…
only thirdparty plugins i always install with every new machine are smart compression/eq, sugabytes effektrix, valhallas and ohmforce…

but mentioned buddy is working hard, convincing me to give at least a few others a try…
and unfiltered audio stuff is top on that list…
we’ll see…er, hear…

I think you’ve answered your own question.

Re the MP3/spectral section. It reminds me of the kind of experimental manipulation you can do in Unfiltered Spec OPS, but in an intuitive twist the knobs to taste package. I don’t know how much overlap there is under the hood — eg can I fully replicate what the spectral section does in SOps. But exploring this kind of territory through well calibrated macros might make for really fun but flexible sound design workflows in my book.

I have yet to wrap my head around what sections of the plug-in are most unique (I’m super curious about the interference section). If the sections turn out to interact in complex ways this might be much deeper than it looks. As a package, it also seems to sit in a sweet spot between flexible sound design playground and nostalgic lo fi exploration machine. It looks super promising and inspiring to me…

(That said I’m trying to spend no time in the daw these days — focusing on acoustic instruments instead. So this is an itch I’ll also wait to scratch for now.

I’m really enjoying listening to databroth experiment with it too.

I bought a fair amount of plugins from them recently so I got a “loyalty voucher” and the deal price. Ended up paying $29
It’s really good! Not entirely sure why but I love the mp3 emulation. Good memories maybe.
Only gripe is it’s a bit of a cpu hog on my 2018 macbook pro.
Other than that I love it.

was your loyalty voucher emailed to you or was it in your account on the website?

Good question. I just bought Silo and git bupkis.

ha!

that makes two of us

Here is the thing, though: @trickyflemming and his partners need to put food on the table, etc. So, yeah, I feel like a jackass trying to get the lowest price.

The economics of software and the sale price/voucher gaming systems are doing weird things to our perceptions of value.

codes are usually sent via email, unless there’s a site-wide discount and i believe the amount of the discount is based on how much you spend (although i’m not sure what the thresholds are).

Emailed. I keep telling myself I don’t need anything else and then wham! They slam with a crazy good deal.

Too be fair I’ve spent around $700 in the last 8 months. It started as $25 off of $50, now it’s $50 off of $75.

Don’t worry about it at all! We’re doing just fine. Get the best price that you can.
