I wonder if there is a three-tier version of this K&M stand I have? I love it for smaller synths, but this one is just two tier. (Click that for photos). Minimalist and very sturdy.
I was looking at some K&M stands when I was thinking having a stand on the table for some desktop synths. Ended up getting a four-tier Jaspers stand that also fits my only big keyboard synth (Matriarch).
At first I was thinking stands are stupidly expensive for what they ”do” but now I think a good stand is actually a really solid investment, a huge ”quality of live improvement”.
I own a K&M Omega Pro with the two top tiers including their respective table surfaces to hold a Kronos 61 on the base, an Osmose on the first tier and various effects & recording devices on the top. I did not acquire the 8 kg table surface for the base though (which also did not exist back then).
I plan on getting an Obelisque Design Stomp Rack for a slightly larger setup than you described. They have various other sizes and attachments depending on what you’re trying to do. You could also install a vesa mount arm on the side for a DT/DN/whatever you want.
To begin with it is rock solid, no wobbling and it can be expanded to up to 3 levels in total, plus many other add ons such as platforms for speaker/monitor, note holder, laptop holder, microphone holder. Basically it’s almost infinitely configurable.
If you page down a bit here you can see a simple diagram with some of the possibilities
Agreed, I have used this setup for three years and no issue whatsoever. Plus, the Pro base stand version folds into a transportable form factor. Only “drawback”: with the extensions, you approach the 500eur region.
Yup, difficult to sell usually and most definitely at a bargain for the buyer. I still have a 22 year old perfectly functioning Quicklok double X stand which can easily carry a 35kg synth. Would give it away but even for free it appears to be a tough “sell” …
