Macbook air 2020 overbridge usb c

Hello there, i would like to connect digitone + analog rytm mk2 to overbridge with my mac air 2020 usb c.
Some one get this set up and could tell me what i need. An overhub ? The usb c - micro b cable and that s it ?
Many thanks from france

You need some kind of USB-C adapter, either from Apple (I think it has HDMI and USB-C and USB-A)

or some cheap thing from Amazon, there are a few USB-C to USB-A

or maybe better a USB-C dock from Anker or similar that has several USB connectors and SD or other stuff, there are many options.

And the latest Overbridge. Works fine.

Assuming you want to use your Digitone/Rytm simultaneously with Overbridge…

If you only have one USB-C port available then you’ll want to get one USB-C to USB Adapter and an Elektron Overhub (or a USB hub that uses MTT technology). In this setup you’ll connect your Digitone/Rytm to the Overhub using their provided USB cables, and connect the Overhub to your Mac using it’s provided USB cable with the USB-C adapter on the end.

If you have two USB-C ports available on your Mac you can just get two USB-C to USB Adapters instead and connect the Digitone/Rytm directly to your Mac that way.

I have an Anker USB-C based adapter and Overbridge does not work.
hw: Macboook Air 2022, Analog Heat +FX, all balanced cables.

Welcome to the party, @RossDD

What does not work exactly? Does the Mac see the AH? If you check USB in the system information app?

I assume you have the AH configured for Overbridge as well as the latest firmware installed and the latest Overbridge as well.

If it does not work you can uninstall OB and install it again and make sure you accept the system extension at some point at the end of the installation, there should be a popup depending on your MacOS version.

Good luck!

Thank you very much, my pleasure. I’m glad to join to elektronauts.

" Does the Mac see the AH? If you check USB in the system information app?"
Yes to both. Mac see the AH. OB is receiving sound signal but it’s off to use.
Like said the AH USB-2 is connected to an Anker USB-C adapter.

“I assume you have the AH configured for Overbridge as well as the latest firmware installed and the latest Overbridge as well.”
Yes, all done except the last AH+FX firmware installed. Bought it less than 2 days ago.

“If it does not work you can uninstall OB and install it again and make sure you accept the system extension at some point at the end of the installation”
Yes, I did 2 times.
(sorry for my bad english)

Hm and the AH is showing up in the Overbridge Engine widget of the menu as “Active” or “Idle”?
If it does, maybe this is rather something with the audio routing in the AH, I had it a while ago so maybe someone else can chime in who owns one.

If it doesn’t maybe check the firmware and make sure you install the latest one with the Transfer App from Elektron. Goes easy.

Are you using OB as standalone app or plugin? You could try to use it as an audio device in your DAW as in and output device and see if that works?

Made the OS upgrade via Transfer, SOLVED.
Before the upgrade OB Engine does not display anything, now it’s everything OK.
Thank you very much!

I use my overhub with a USB C type cable(the other end is that wide odd looking thing, is it called micro b or something? Anyways, identical to the one looking on the box), havent experienced any issues. no adapters/donggles required

Good news! Have fun with the AH!!
