I’m new to the Syntakt and one thing I don’t understand is how to make settings such as volume, tuning, etc consistent across patterns (similar to parts on the Octatrack). For instance, if I start working on a bass line on pattern one, and then I adjust the volume on pattern two, and adjust the tuning on track three, the settings will be different for each pattern.
This could be useful in some situations, but it often results in wild variations from one pattern to the next and it seems like a lot of work to go into each pattern and make the settings consistent.
I dont have a Syntakt but i have a Digitone…
I avoid this by Copy Pasting the tracks Sound. Hold Track button +Rec/Copy to copy it, Track +Stop/Paste to paste it back in.
voila
I’ve been playing with a ST for a few years. I’ve not really found a solution apart from having a session where I change the mix levels by ear; a bit time-consuming but gets the job done. Using templates with your most common setting is pretty useful too, especially for having more uniformed FX sends.
This excellent Digitakt vid at 5 mins by @OscillatorSink also demonstrates how using transition patterns can also be your friend in terms of consistent settings across patterns.
