Mayer emi md900 X-VA Synth Sound Demo

This video shows some of the factory presets I’ve been creating during the last couple of months for mayer’s fantastic md900 X-VA synth. The video focuses on single patches, only, and therefore other great features like the internal clip launcher or multitimbral patches are not part of it. This will follow in a second video.
Maybe you find it interesting, anyways.

3400 euros… hot damn.

Beautiful machine. Couple of questions I’m hoping you can answer off the top of your head based on your experience.
A) Do modulation source and dest auto map based on touching controls/knobs or do you need to select via lists on the display?
B) does it support motion recording/parameter automation?
Thanks

A) Most of the parameters can be directly assigned by pressing a tiny button in the modulation source area (EG, LFOs). Next, you can assign it by simply assigning it by turning the parameter in the destination area.
I’ve already suggested doing the same with ModWheel, Aftertouch etc. When navigating in the modulation page just hold (…button is tbd yet…) and move the source of your choice. Second, move the target. Horst has been very open to suggestions and I’m sure these will be implemented one day.
B) That’s not possible yet but on the list. The sequencer page has still a lot of potential

I was looking into this synth the other day, I was a little interested. I saw one pop up for sale - $3500 is too rich for my blood but it is fascinating. Did anybody here ever pick one up?

Have you seen the Vibes? It’s a smaller version of the MD900 but with the same feature set for a lower price.

No I missed that, thanks for the heads up! I like the smaller form factor a la the Iridium Core. I’m not sure I’ll preorder (I guess it’s available in July) but interesting and I’d like to see more.
