Model:Samples not triggering external synth w/ the sequencer

I can play notes just fine by pressing a trig button manually, but when I hit Play, the button I have selected in Grid mode is not playing. Is there a setting in Midi Config that will let the sequencer play my external synth? Here’s what I want: I want to trigger a note on my Pro VS Mini with the M:S sequencer in Grid mode. The note is to trigger on step 1 out of the 16 triggers, and I want the note to play continuously from then on, throughout the piece, which might go longer than 30 minutes as it’s an ambient wash for meditation. I think I might be better off just sampling a long note from the synth and have the Loop button activated on its channel, just bypass Midi altogether. Any info greatly appreciated.

I don’t know a lot about the models but isn’t there a setting per track in the track menu to enable it for midi notes? Is it possible you set up midi out in the midi config menu but didn’t enable the track to send it?

I don’t know any more than that really, just have read M:S and M:C posts that sound similar.

Yes, that’s the one that often gets missed. The other settings in the midi configuration are also relevant (channel, midi over TRS or USB) but they’re fairly easy to explore and understand.

Here’s my solution, just midi up the Pro VS Mini to my SQ-64 and slave the M:S to it as well, now both are controlled by the Korg, which can do tied notes.
