Didn’t see this reflected in any of the other posts (Link here if you found mentions of it).
Anyone else have this issue? Monomachine patterns / parts / part settings are disappearing at random for the last 2 snapshots I created . Sometimes at power on, and sometimes when switching between memory “older” snapshots and these new ones. Sometimes sysex pattern transfers from my computer don’t save in new empty pattern slots (within new snapshots) even though there are no error messages.
The battery has never been replaced. Not sure if that’s the issue, or it’s a wider memory issue.
Everything else works fine.
Using an old MacBook pro and C6.
Thanks in advance.
These symptoms may indicate that there is a fault in the +drive connection circuit or that the NAND chip of your +drive has reached a point of significant degradation.
How often have you used the +drive to write snapshots? Did you successfully format the +drive from the appropriate menu?

Thanks for your reply.
I’ve used less than half of the snapshots and I’ve only used sysex to transfer in either direction maybe 20 times.
I haven’t formatted the +Drive since I bought the unit brand new. What are you suggesting?
Thanks again.
Also, after doing a bunch of reading - could I buy a + drive from you and put it in my monomachine as a replacement drive? I can PM you on Discord if so. I’ve joined the channel.
This is very strange. Under normal conditions +drive can handle a very large number of writes and reads. Below I have written a small instruction for you to help you diagnose the problem. Be careful - if the NAND chip is faulty, the formatting process can permanently disable it in some cases.
- In order to identify obvious problems regarding hardware (NAND failure or connection issues), you should try formatting the +drive. If for some reason the format progress counter freezes or you see a lot of “EEEE” in the lower left corner of the screen, it means that the problem is on the hardware side.
-
If the formatting failed or did not help - the next step is to reconnect the +drive. To do this you will need to disassemble the MNM. You can use our +drive installation guide (Discord) to learn the process. You will simply need to remove and re-install your +drive.
-
If the problem persists after reconnecting - format the +drive a second time.
-
If the problem still persists, you should save a full SysEx backup of your MNM to your computer, then enter EARLY STARTUP MENU (hold the [FUNCTION] key while powering up) and perform a FACTORY RESET of the MNM memory (Press TRIG 3).
- If none of these steps helped fix the problem - then your +drive’s NAND chip has failed.
Of course! Hopefully formatting or other steps will help, but if the problem is not resolved - you can message me on Discord - then you can purchase the +drive from us.

Thanks for your help! I’ll dig into it this weekend.
Two questions:
Does formatting the drive erase all snapshots or only the snapshot I’m currently logged into?
Is there a way to back up the entire machine, or do I have to back up each snapshot one at a time?
I couldn’t find if these questions had been answered before, and I felt like the manual didn’t give a definitive stance.
Thanks again.
Hopefully whatever ultimately becomes the resolution can help other people on here.
I wouldn’t format until you’ve saved everything you want to keep, better safe than sorry. If i remember correctly there is no way to backup all snapshots at once, you need to transfer each individually.

@taxhaven gave you the absolutely right answer
But yes, these questions are indeed not covered in the User Manual.
