Looks like it’s a plugin.
Had virtual CV ins and outs so it interacts with the moogerfooger plugins
$100 for Desktop and $30 for iOS and an introductory 50% off.

Was hoping for hardware, looks nice for itb producers.
Yeah, kinda funny that they posted the video as “new bass synth” and giving its Moog the reasonable expectation would be that its hardware.
I wonder if this is going to mainly be the direction Moog is gonna go- I mean their plugins so far have all been really good.
Also wonder if something like this will end up on the MPC platform.
I have been looking for a minitaur for a few weeks and seems sold out for a while, in the EU at least
So maybe hardware is coming as well?
I always find it strange when they make the iOS cheaper. I’m sure it just a marketing thing as people will like not pay as much for an app but surely it essentially the same software…?
Soundcloud playlist for anyone interested: Stream moog music | Listen to Mariana playlist online for free on SoundCloud
Yeah it just seems to be the standard that iOS versions are cheaper. I think it really does just come down to the perception of value from iOS apps versus desktop apps.
I really want to see a demo where they are using the CV ins and outs to interact with the moogerfoogers
Oh nice. Also interested for seeing the pedal integration
Is that Bob from Bob’s Burgers voice?
Here’s three more in depth videos and there’s a handful of sound design videos on YouTube as well
Like… I don’t need this at all I have hardware Moog synths but their plugins do sound so good lol. The fact that I can plug my OP-1F into an iPad or iPhone and have access to probably the best Minimoog emulation to use with the OP-1 tape is pretty awesome….
Oh, Mariana, as in Mariana Trench (which is pretty deep by all accounts). It took me a second tho!
This is Moog changing and adapting to stay alive (read: profitable) in today’s market by continuing to expand their software lineup, and i’ve gotta admit I tend to buy Moog software for some reason or another. Basically no need for this, but i’ll probably pick it up on it’s intro offer…
This poses a particular anchoring problem when some iOS apps (including Moog’s own Minimoog and Model 15) are also available on ARM Macs. While DAW support for AUv3 isn’t quite where VST3 is, getting an official, great-sounding Minimoog emulation you can use with Ableton or Logic for $30 (even less on sale!) is a pretty great deal - and makes it kind of hard for Moog to price other desktop plugins in the $100 range.
There is of course the value of having other plugin formats, as well as compatibility with Windows and Intel Macs. But for ARM Mac users, it can seem a rather artificial distinction, especially when the publisher disables Mac installs of the iOS version (as Moog has done with Mariana).
This looks cool. Moog makes some good plugins, and I always liked Animoog, so I will probably give this one a spin at some point as well.
I tried the demo but have already deleted it. As a VST didn’t like the GUI (have to keep switching between pages, it really sems like it was designed for iPads primarily) but most importantly it just doesn’t sound that good to me…its not bad or anything, but it just doesn’t bring anything new at all in terms of synthesis or sound quality. Its just nothing special in my opinion. I suspect if it wasn’t released by Moog it would have gone under most peoples radars.
Moog are now part of InMusic so maybe it was done by the Air team so could be on MPC hardware, maybe that explains the weird GUI tabbing.
Sounds good. Very Monark-y which of course was inspired by a certain Moog.
Interesting that this is using Moog’s own activation system linked to a web account rather than iLok (which is how the Moogerfoogers were licensed).
EDIT: Just downloaded the Moogerfoogers from scratch, and they’re using the same non-iLok activation now, too. I must have missed this when it changed.
Now I wish I’d picked up some of those when they were on sale!
I wonder what the chances are of UAD ever switching to their own activation system…
