MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 2)

Strange, I’m doing everything the same way I have always done regarding purchase/activating etc, but its not showing up since yesterday afternoon.

you might say your plugin has been delayed… ba dum bump… :grimacing:

maybe the system got bogged down

Anyone have issues with mpc one controller mode and the m1 Mac mini?

I’m on the latest mpc firmware and OS for mac and controller mode seems broken. Whenever I select main it’s like the screen freeze.

And while I’m here asking questions. Is there any shortcut for selecting a pad without triggering a sound? Doesn’t seem like there is which seems like a big oversight to me. Shift + pad seems the most logical to me. I have to get around it by selecting it in pad mix

I had to turn wifi on, turn mpc off and back on, then I went to online download in settings, I then cancelled the operation and it was in the list of plug ins ready to activate.

Is this Delay Pro compatible with Force too - anyone got it?

It does list it as compatible on the Air product page. There are a lot of controls on this, so I’d be interested to see how they map to the Screen mode for the Force’s encoders.

Yes that was my thinking too, how it would map.

what about a reverb pro??

No issues to activate / download and use Air Delay Pro in MPC standalone.

MPC software lists it in the plugin manager but I can’t find it when trying to insert it. Hmmm… Any ideas?

P.S.: No issues using it in other DAWs.

hope it works because I’m bought it on the AIR page directly and not via the link

just updating the software on my PC

In MPC Software I had to get it via the VST’s folder… it wasn’t showing up in the regular Akai plugin folder.

it has about 4-5% more workload on the MPC CPU compared to the usual Air delay

that looks horrible. Not only is it just pictures of an MPC and OP-1 and it does not work at all like the hardware and will probably get sued away before release, but tapping on a table with your finger tips is a terrible experience.
Though I do applaud the principle. I’d just prefer to see something like VCV in there instead of a couple of ripoffs. And provide a nice reflective, washable rubber mat to finger drum on.

Delay Pro sounds great, well worth the £39 though maybe not at its ‘full’ price.

Update: Installing it on my PC was not enough for MPC Software: It was not necessary to move the VST files but activating and downloading “something” was necessary within MPC Software.

That isn’t too bad. Especially not if it sounds much better

I really can’t get over how good Delay Pro sounds – it was totally unexpected. It’s quickly become what I’ll try first as a VST too. I don’t think it’s just because it’s the new plugin either. I genuinely like the controls and overall sounds and that’s coming from being quite a bit of a delay snob too.

TBH, I’ve never really paid any attention to any Air Music products (the ones not included with the MPC), until trying the delay. None of them really appealed to me, but I decided to try the demos of Flavor Pro and Ether as well after seeing how good the delay is. I think Flavor Pro is pretty cool too and it’s not something I would have normally used. It seemed pretty gimmicky at first, but I ran it after a synth and liked what I heard. Will need to try it on more, but I could see picking it up if they have a decent sale.

Ether, not so much. Sounds… just OK. Would be more excited I think if they had a version for standalone, but as a VST it has way too much competition. NI Raum continues to be one of my favorites and that was free when initially released (still can’t believe that). So many amazing reverbs ITB these days that something has to really standout to compete.

So was mpc 3.0 and Mpc mini just a false rumour? I was holding out all this weekend (superbooth) but no mention.

Mpc 3 on the other hand is pretty much confirmed unless Akai stops development.
When is a complete source of speculation though…
