Becoming quite interested in one of these for (Vocal processing). I want to stack FX and going for weird, distorted screams and shouts. Anyone using one and have experiences/comments to give?
XLR in > Saturation > FX A > send/return > FX B > XLR/line/XLR dry out
It’s quite fun. Basically Butthole Surfers vocals in a box. Not really set up to deliver anything subtle, so yelps and shouts are a good call.
Start by setting it to “octaves” and “long delay” and reading out the following (ideally with a slightly hysterical tone to your voice):
“In that direction,” the Cat said, waving its right paw round, ”lives a Hatter: and in that direction,” waving the other paw, “lives a March Hare. Visit either you like: they’re both mad. “ “But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
And you will get a pretty good sense of what it is best at
I haven’t bothered sticking stuff in the effects loop, mainly because it is fairly nutty as it stands. And also because my aspirant vocalist of a teenage son has largely stolen it to play with. But I could imagine it would be quite fun
