Copy/paste functionality on multitracks is apparently included in the latest version of the firmware, should work with shift+copy. I’ve not tried it yet though.
That’s duplicate, and it’s done over the active track only.
You can copy one track to another with copy/paste + first pad column on the first page. Not sure if you can copy one track’s page to another. Copy page includes all tracks.
I understand the duplicate but in the example I want to copy a track from page 1 to the same track on page 3. I don’t understand if this is possible or not from reading the manual. Maybe I need some more sleep lots of great stuff to like in this sequencer though.
Just found I can set each lane of a multitrack to address different MIDI channels!
Hold a pad on the track of your choice and hold the associated sequencer button, then simply select the MIDI channel with the left encoder.
So now I can address up to 64 different drum racks in Ableton Live at once - essentially giving me control of a maximum of 8192 samples - from a SINGLE multitrack. mind blown
Those are some of the nice tricks OXI can do
Also, on a Chord sequence, the root note can have an alternative MIDI channel, so you can drive a bass synth under the chord from the same sequencer, and the root note can be set to 1 or 2 octaves down.
WUTTT. No way.
I’ve barely used the Poly sequencer yet, I’ve been obsessing over Multitrack and Mono. Mad props to you guys for putting so much thought into the Oxi One. Everytime I ask myself if something is possible the answer is a yes.
Manual is a bit outdated now with the latest update (wip), but I recommend going through it. There’s a bunch of tips like these written in there.
Indeed, I recommend to anybody with this device to read the manual. It’s packed full of super helpful things. I find it a LOT to take in so am going through only the parts that relate to my usage. That said, I’m going to tackle Poly tracks next as my Virus wants in on the action!
This is the main point of having so many features. Each person will find their perfect workflow that can be totally different from one to another. It’s a manual to revisit so it can inspire you to take different approaches after a while, plus all the features we keep on adding
Thanks for the feedback!
+1
I think the OXI is super intuitive once you read the manual though It is not up to date right now. The firmware is still actively developed too (im using the beta right now) but the dev are really responsive and development is fast. At first i was confused (just like the m8 tracker) but once you are familiar with it its an amazing creative tool.
I have been testing real time recording and step recording mostly with CV using an MS20 and B2600. Also it seems its going to be possible (in the future) to load patterns from one project into the current one Yeah !
I posted over at the oxi forum but I’m posting here as well as someone might have experience with the issue here and I have something of a time issue as well.
Basically I would love to use it for a gig next week but I’m having some issues with sync so I don’t know if it’s going to be possible.
I’m trying to sync oxi to octatrack using midi sync. I’m sending only clock and transport from octatrack (no midi notes) I’m experiencing a very strange issue where oxi completely miscalculates the tempo once it receives transport from octatrack. It runs between 15-20 bpm too fast and is completely out of sync. It’s really strange cause it seems to understand the tempo when they are not running. Any idea what could cause this?
Here is a link to a video of the issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/7PABvtSefLw?feature=share
It works flawlessly here with Octatrack > Digitone >Thru out to Oxi so no idea what’s wrong. Probably Manuel is the one to answer this.
Thanks😊 have you tried it directly synced to OT as well or only from DN thru?
do you use the thru out from digitone or the Midi A? Mine seems to work ok when I run it thru Digitakt Midi A but not Midi B Thru. Would be great if you have time to test it directly synced from OT to see if you could replicate the issue or if it’s just me
I’ll do so tonight. Should be the same though since it’s supposedly passing the midi signal through like from the OT midi out itself.
Thank you. Would just be good to know in order to get closer to where the issue is. Since i’m able to make it work perfectly with one routing but directly it synced it goes crazy. Also just to clarify, you are saying that you use “Midi Thru sync B” out from digitone?
Yes there’s only one midi thru.
OT MIDI out direct to Oxi works as expected. It is tightly synced. OT sends Transport and Clock.
Thanks man. Really strange that it reacts the way it does to my OT
