I would actually love a Tracker+ and given how long it’s been out for and that the Tracker MKI was quite reasonably priced it wouldn’t be wrong and it aligns it with the Tracker Mini (which has a much more powerful processor).
It’s a shame they’ve fumbled this launch so badly because I feel like a Play+, Tracker+ and Tracker Mini all with the higher specced Teensy and getting the synth engines, USB audio and extra tracks on all platforms would be a great lineup.
The PT is my all time favorite hardware instrument. Ive made more tracks with it than anything else other than a laptop.
So I’m trying to justify using two of my audio interface inputs for the tracker, when its sample handling is mono and I’m not going to use the ‘instruments’ on it, or likely much in the way of audio effects (if any; i can do this externally).
In fact, I’m probably mostly just going to use it as a drum sequencer (MIDI) and minimal sample-playback/mangling, for external audio processing.
Can anyone think of a reason I’d be missing anything just dropping it to mono (L?) output for that use-case?
I’m also curious as to whether the output level of mono (L) is going to be really low compared to a summing of L/R if I use two (otherwise mono) interface inputs
Sounds reasonable. I guess the effects on stereo and you might lose something of it if you put it into mono mode.
If you don’t use the effects so much, you could use left and right as 2 channel single mono output in order to EQ, lets say, the base and the hihats and the rest of it differently.
ooh, I like this idea (split left and right); that would make the dual output a bit more useful
I’m definitely not going to process with the built in effects… I have a solution for effects via the audio interface
Tracker+ seems like a no brainer from a business standpoint. Same shell with updated processor to implement the polyphonic synth engine and stereo samples capabilities from the Play+. Would also be smart to allow for an 3rd fx lane. This would give the Dirtywave M8 some real good competition. Enough time has passed from the OG tracker release that they would easily avoid the type of backlash they received when they dropped the Play+. Here’s to hoping!
Something I made on the Tracker a bit ago. I’m finding it hard to create a nice mix (sorry about the random clicks too), so any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated! Anyway, this was made entirely on the Tracker (I really enjoy sampling the radio), then recorded into an SP for some compression and a bit more (probably too much) delay and reverb
A few more things I threw together on the tracker. All very lofi and meant to be listened to in headphones (since I didn’t really mix them on anything else)
Hi! Any news on the possible Polyend Tracker +?
I’m tempted by the mini functionalities (especially thanks to the latest firmware) but i lean more toward the og interface/tactile experience.
I think it’s likely happening soon, the current massive price drop at thomann indicates that the retailer is informent about a possible discontinued or replacement product. Also polyend already listed the OG tracker in their legacy products (which are discontinued): Legacy & About Us - Polyend
