Have any of you run into this:
I have a Digitakt sync’d to Logic Pro for MIDI clock and transport. Regularly, after either powering up for a session, or by stopping transport to restart playback from the beginning, the Digitakt will inexplicably lose volume. It is still audible, but down to about -40dB max. Consistently, this is “solved” by reloading the project. I just replicated this with Overbridge 2.13.4 and Digitakt OS 1.52.
I do not believe this is Overbridge-related, because I can also replicate it by using simple MIDI sync over USB with no Overbridge integration or plugin at all.
Could it be I am doing something wrong? It seems odd that transport controls, or simply turning on the device, would cause the system volume to change. Thanks all!
I’d start by using a midi monitor to see what’s being sent and received to the DT and if nothing in the data is a glaring indication of what’s happening, I would then open a new logic session and a fresh digitakt project using different samples (doesn’t have to be coherent, just a few trigs to check the behavior) and see if you can reproduce the issue.
So even if the midi monitor yields no communication with digitakt which you suspect is causing this, it should at least clear logic of suspicion and also help to determine if it’s project specific or if it’s a more global issue.
I remember that there may have been similar issues with volume loss posted here in the past, but I don’t know if it’s related to a bug because it’s just as often some setting as it is a malfunction.
Anyways, you’d have to search for threads with that information but good luck, and I hope that helps.
I do believe this was it. I did this and have not experienced the issue since. I will definitely keep a closer eye on MIDI comms from now on. Thanks all!
