Random slice locks across 128 measures?

In the DT2 in slice machine can you create random slice locks across the full 128 measures? Or does it just do it on the page you are on (eg 16 measures)?

Yes.

Is that across the full 8 pages though? It doesn’t mention the number of steps.

Yes. Slice grid according to desired length. Place trigs where you want them and then create random locks. Like it says in the manual it will randomize each time you press yes. If you are happy with the way it randomized itself then don’t reshuffle it. Length of the pattern doesn’t matter up to the max number of steps. Just try it.

Even if you put a trig on every step it will assign a random slice to each of them but it will sound like nonsense probably.

I agree, I don’t see why it would be limited to a shorter length than pattern length, and I’ll add you should be able to create linear locks for a 128 steps long loop, using 64 trigs (1 each 2 steps, Grid = 64).

Linear locks are allocated to all trigs. Once you reach max Grid value, it starts again from slice 1.

With Random locks, it is…random, no problem.

128 steps.
