I love the Roland Boutique concept, and more than likely will purchase both of them.
Buy a programmer for it
The saving grace for the JD-08 tiny faders may be those larger palette sliders. Might make it useable. Iām always at least a little bit tempted by the boutiques. These both seem like theyād be fun to make patches on, but might be too cramped to use live.
Iāve decided I definitely want the JD-08 more.
I agree. I think I might be more tempted by that one as well. Small faders aside, it might be fun to jam a sequence while muting / unmuting the different tones (ABCD)
can you upload your own waveforms to the jd08 or are the 108 included all i will ever get?
Blofeld as well right?
I dunno about you, but programming the microkorg is no fun at all. Maybe thats why I avoid it
I wonder if there will be parameter jumps when turning the same fader and switching the parts a and b.
Anyone else wondering why the JX-08 wasnāt blessed with longer sliders considering all the real estate on the top of the panel?
Still, I kinda want one.
Yeah completely but the editor is pretty chill and it definitely sounds nice so I do like to play it!
Editor? I had no idea. I dislike editors though. I prefer knobs. But yes it does sound really good.
I can see myself getting a JX thoughā¦ ha.
Of course they do. JX-8P is more recognizable, iconic looking. JX-10 looks already like those boring Roland workstations. Olo Garb really squeezed some great sounds out of the JX. I wonder how much of this will be also transferable to the JX08.
My thoughts exactly! In my imagination, the MC-101 should be a good option for rompler
duties and classic digital sounds. Unfortunately, I didnāt work out as expected when I used itā¦
Will they make the SH-01 bi-timbral?
Is it completely redundant to get the JD-08 when I already own an XV-5080? My wallet says yes, but my heart says no.
yeah - this is what I meant about the JXs being the king of these sorts of sounds in my post earlier ! Just huge. Plus on my JX-10 - like this new Boutique - you could layer two of these patches on top of each other ! A big reverb & it was just massive.
how rude !
seriously, in person the Super JX was one of the most beautful looking synths. Even with the PG-800 sat-atop the right hand side it just looked pure class. Bugger to lug around though by the time it was in its flightcase ! But I did gig with mine a fair bit. Think it cost me Ā£700 s/h in about 1989 IIRCā¦
A JD-09 please.
