I’m trying to work out some of the functionality of the fill page on my Mk1. When I hold “page”, fill conditions trigger, but on top of that all the pads turn green like the mute page. I can turn them on and off but they are not muting the tracks. Also the FX button at the top lights up and I can switch it on and off but I don’t know what it’s doing. I’be only had the Mk1 for a while so I’m not sure if it’s part of the new firmware but does anyone know what these two functions do? Thanks!
That’s the new page looping function. Came with the 1.70 update. You can chose which of the four pages is played and with the pads you select which tracks are effected.

Rytm Mk2 has a dedicated fill button and somehow it slipped through testing that this conflicts with fill on the Mk1. Elektron already said they’ll fix it.

Btw, any news regarding fill mode on the Rytm mk1? The page looping function is great, but I’m starting to miss those classic fills…
With the page button covering page looping now, we can’t access it on the mk1.
No_fill on kicks was a great way to quickly mute the kick by holding down the page button and cueing up fills is still a pretty powerful thing on the Elektrons. It’s like a third pattern layer…I know 1.70 dropped only in november 2023 and Elektron probably was busy with the DT II…but I thought I’d ask…

+1 on this, its extremely annoying to lose access to the screen when using fill. A very special power to make multiple musical movements simultaneously has been removed…

oh man although I’m on mk2 I constantly think about this issue on mk1, I’m using fill a lot so the thought of losing it feels pretty bad, I’m really missing the trig page live recording, been 9 months since the 1.70 release I really wish they’d release a fix at least for these hot topics…

If you double tap the mute button while holding down page/fill buttom you can use it just as before

Is that a confusing the mcu technique? 
Works everytime reliably? I’ll give it a try…though part of what makes fill so useful for me is that I can do it with one hand/one finger while doing other stuff on the boxes sitting left and right from the Rytm, but thanks anyway! Will sure come in handy.
Somehow you can still select all modes while holding down the pag/fill button on the mk1

the FX button is for setting the effect section like the compressor and deley etc
Double tapping mute button let’s me access the mute page, but nothing more.
But the (temporary) fill mode is still blocked by new loop function. Yes+Page engages fill for one cycle and if you latch fill mode (Press and hold [PAGE] + [YES], and then release [PAGE] before you release [YES] to latch FILL mode), but holding page engages temporary fill mode and loop mode.
Rytm mk1 ui is a bit broken…
Btw, did ya’ll know we can use the down arrow to cycle through which pages are looped? Hold page to bring up the loop screen and use the arrow key.

Yep, love my mk1. If I wouldn’t have an OT, I’d probably go for an mk2. With the OT sitting next to it, there’s no real need to do that and I appreciate the smaller form factor.
Btw, I’m not going mad, right? Temporary fill mode (holding down page) didn’t work on the mk1 or did it?
After latching fill mode on mine, holding page now brings up the page loop screen and engages fill mode - which makes me wonder if this is what should happen and mine just didn’t engage fill for some reason.
How’s the behaviour on yours?

Fill mode works, latch fill also works. As far as I’m aware the issue resides in having the same key doing both things, and preventing mute. (double tapping mute doesn’t work on a musical scenario, imho, we’re playing rytms, we need timing - New features should never break old workflow on a musical instrument )
Yeah, then it was something on my Rytm. The page button only brought up the page looping, it didn’t trigger fill like it used to.
I never latch fill, I even forgot the button combo for it, so my Rytm just didn’t have fill anymore after the update and I thought that’s just how it is for everyone. The new loop mode broke fill.
A few days ago I started to test all sorts of things and one of them was to latch fill. This bascially brought back fill mode…
No idea what was going on, but the whole time I’d thought the update had actually really broken the fill mode. But no, that was only on my Rytm for some reason…it’s just that the UI is broken and page triggers both.

Yeah, very useful. You have temporary fill, fill for one pattern loop and you can latch fill.
All Elektrons have it, but it’s a different button combo on the OT and I think yet different on the A4 and I always forget them^^
Instead of double tapping mute, try holding mute.
Still not as immediate as before (still a burden on a musical scenario) but def better, for me at least.
