Small mixer like this one - any others I should check out?

I’m looking for a small 10-12 channel submixer and I happened upon the Behringer Xenyx 1002SFX. Really like the dimensions of this one, but am curious if you know about it or suggest others I should look at?

Going into the mixer is a stereo S-1, 2 mono Sy-1s, a mono Nymphes a mono Liven Lo-fi 12, and a stereo turntable.

So I could probably get away with an 8 channel if needed, but having a few expansion channels would be nice.

I have the one without FX and it‘s fine. Does what it says and I have not encountered any noise problems or anything else noteworthy.

Yamaha MG series also worth looking at.

My experiences with xenyx mixers are prolly too long ago to be relevant these days.

You’ll need a phono preamp. But you can get simple preamps for little money. Or have a look at DJ mixers with internal preamps.

Or 19" devices like https://www.ecler.com/de/produkte/sam612t/

If “small” describes more the size than the price, go for the Bluebox.

How about the new zoom l-6?

Size is great, many cool features (usb audio interface, multitrack recording).

Downside: ~300€, so if just a basic not to small mixer is wanted a xeny will probably always win in price.

If you’d like to stay analog, I’d look at the small Allen & Heath stuff instead, or as mentioned, the Yamahas. They’re a bit better built and likely to be more reliable — the only Behringer mixer we’ve had in the house here completely melted down during a show.

Thanks all, I should have mentioned I have a phono preamp already.

I ended up going with a Behringer rack mixer - RX1602v2. I have the rack space and that saves footprint. Plus I can use that footprint to send my mono synths into a stereo delay or some sort of hardware FX pedal.

I don’t really need to EQ or compress with a cheap mixer, I think if I went in that direction I would have splurged on an SSL, which is probably overkill right now.

Should have thought of the line rack mixer right away, but this works out well.

Now I may look into a stereo effect box that I can modulate while recording. something wiggly. Zen Delay seems like a nice option.

I like your thinking  Berhinger… SSL :man_shrugging:
I’ll go behringer

Seems you know what you are doing.
I’ve just been down the rabbit hole of filling a space for a small modulatorable fx (which could be another thread).

It was a toss up between Bastl Thyme+ and Jomox T-resonator mk2.
Bought the T-resonator but it broke (sounded beautiful).
Sent it back then landed a Lyra-8 from here at Elektronauts.
Definitely got some special source, nay even rebuy the T-resonator to make an awesome pair.
