Are there interesting musical uses of the Stream Deck? Is there a way to integrate it into a hardware based setup? Or would this be a purely DAW based tool?
I never used Stream Deck but I think it requires software to run in order for it too work.
But maybe they changed it on this version?
What are they smoking at Elgato?
They added two encoders, a network connector and put it in a rack format. And somehow that justifies it being 4x the price of a Stream Deck XL? Wow. 
They also offer two new docks for the Stream Deck + as well that seem useful.
And the XL is now 50% on discount.
Those docks are for the Stream Deck +, and the XL is only discounted if you buy the Studio.
I just noticed the Buttons app is subscription based, they’re really trying to max profits on this one.

I was really excited to see this for about five seconds before I saw the price and subscription. Like, if they’d priced it maybe €50 more than the XL and no subscription, I’d probably buy… Idk, like six of them? But at this price, no way.

This is not for musicians and bedrooms, this is for broadcasting.
I’m not sure how much value this app adds, but I guess it’s more than just regular StreamDeck configuration app.

I just got a Stream Deck Plus but haven’t had chance to set it up yet. There is a free Midi plugin which should make it pretty useful with a DAW.
BTW the iPhone app is free for the 6 button version (so basically the same as a Stream Deck Mini on your phone). I’ve downloaded it and it works fine but again I haven’t really used it much yet
Oh, I know — I’d be using them on a lighting console as a smart multi-group color picker. A few of those is still way cheaper than a couple of Skaarhoj track fly trios, but if I can just shove a pile of XLs into a faceplate and plug them into a Blue Pill, I get all the flexibility for a lot less money.
