Hi there,
I haven’t found a thread covering this synth so I hope it’s ok to open up a new one. I’ve just published a demo video of the SE-3x by Studio Electronics. Maybe you find it interesting.
Fantastic Moog Clone Plus…i always wanted one…
Sounds great @colectivo_triangular !
We also always wanted one @plusn - Love this machine so much that we have written a review of ours. Assuming that this is the thread to post it, here goes:
https://solidtrax.nl/studio-electronics-se-3x-review/
We also made a preset pack for it and a demo with some of the sounds:
The white one is at Superbooth, connected to a H90 and that combination is brilliant :).
Too bad the white version is so difficult to get a hold of.
wow… that pic looks better than the one on Reverb!
I’ve been temped by this color scheme many-o-nights…
A beauty!
Is the only seller/store that sells this white one on Reverb? Did you find it elsewhere?
You have to buy through Reverb store.
btw: nice to see some SE-3X love. I hardly ever see it pop up here on Elektronauts.
I really love that Roland filter in R3 mode with a bit of feedback.
dude, you and me both. i was surprised to discover that the Roland filters were my favorite, but especially driving that R3.
(if you look closely, the pic above confirms the preference)
From demos, I thought I was going to like the ARP filter most, but I have a hard time telling the difference between it and the Moog filter.
I know what you mean. I’m not sure i could tell them apart in a blind test. I like them, though.
I love the feedback on it. When I was going through the manual and trying things out it stopped me cold for a good twenty minutes just trying everything with the feedback cranked up to see what would happen. Incredible synthesizer.
Does the white one have any different features?
No, exactly the same.
All Special Edition white versions have the feedback mod that switches noise for feedback.
I did not realize that!
It’s the version to get ATM. Well worth the extra $$$.
Here’s a nice write-up i just discovered…
