I know the Kemper Profiler is commonly used for Bass and Guitar. But is anyone using it in conjunction with synth gear? To get a nasty distortion on that Bass Synth? To push an Organ Sound a little more? To profile a distortion-Eurorack-Module? Or use the fancy FX-section of the Kemper? Any ideas?
Kind of in a different direction, but I believe Bill Ruppert used the Profiler to profile his favorite Roland VG-99 synth tones, so that he could use regular guitars to play those tones on the Profiler.
His experiments with profiling synths, keys, etc. instead of guitar amps on the Profiler led to the development of the EHX Mel9 and other EHX synth pedals. However, he deleted his posts confirming this stuff.
interesting, I thought the Profiler is only capable of profiling amps and cabs, and not things like filters or tone generators.
I think the profiling is done by putting up a mic on your favorite amp, so in theory if you run your favorite synth into a decent monitor and put a mic on that, the Kemper will happily create a profile of that.
