Synthesizers and magnet mounts

This is a very random question here but should I be concerned/caution about putting large magnet holders on any synthesizers?

I found this handy-looking phone holder. I hope to mount the holder to my ASM Hydrasynth Desktop to mount a few smaller synths/midi controllers/effects units to sit right above the interface.
I just received it in the mail and it is a pretty large magnet. Should I be concerned about attaching that size magnet to my synth? From my very basic understanding of this, I would want to avoid using it with any older gear that might have old disk drives that use magnets

Well it depends on the synth, the magnet and the location of the magnet relative to that synth, but in general, especially if you don’t know the components and their internal layout, this is probably, a bad idea. You can run into a lot more than just lost/corrupted data. Electronics and (strong) magnets usually don’t play wel together unless properly designed/shielded etc.
