Tangerine from 1010 Music

Well look at you with your summit!! Congrats!

Not mine :slightly_smiling_face: it’s at Andreasson. And I won’t be getting one either.

I actually think the nano fireball is quite sufficient as a synth right now.

I really like the fireball…used that quite a bit lately.

Oh my friend, it is indeed a thing. One with an ever growing and invested fan base.
Think pimple popping but more universally accepted.

Not to toot our horn, but there’s a new fireball beta out, too. Includes usb device midi and a few other things.

Not sure of 1010s intended market really, but for some insight I play drums and keep a pedalboard with synths on top of my kick drum for ambient sections of songs. Because of the spatial limitations of this setup (and a desire to keep it this way to be able to switch between drums and synth very quickly) I have to keep things on my board very small. I’m very interested in the Tangerine because I can sample patches on the synth I was using (Micromonsta2) plus have access to piano or even other VSTs in a very tiny footprint. I’ve been hoping for something like this in a small package for a long time. I don’t really edit synth parameters in a live setting beyond switching patches, so for live use the Tangerine seems perfect. Very excited to pick one up.

This is pretty akin to the bitbox micro which I use all the time for multisampled stuff in my rack. Love 1010.

It was bound to happen, sooner or later.

Looking forward to being able to audition wavs in the load browser … surprised it wasn’t there in the launch firmware

Hi

In this configuration can you use the digitakt as a mixer. I.e the output of the tangerine into the input of the digitakt?

yes

That is terrific news. Fanks

another option is the digitakt can go into the Tangerine; I think audio-in just goes through the Tangerine compressor but not its internal FX

FWIW, there is a new firmware release in beta on the 1010music forum. Bug fixes, USB device MIDI, a few other things.

I’m super tempted by the Tangerine. Seems like such a fun and portable way to have access to multi-sampled sounds from all kinds of cool synth patches.

But not having a filter envelope is holding me back right now…IMO that’s a pretty basic essential ingredient to be able to at least sculpt a synth sound in a rudimentary way

One envelope per note on?
I’d be happy with at least one mono mode single filter envelope, retriggered on every new note

and then … for poly

  • one envelope up to the poly limit, retrigger envelope on the next note above that limit
or something like that… sounds complicated!

Well I was just talking about even one overall filter envelope…never mind one per note !

There is an envelope control but you can’t assign it to filter from what I understand?

It is a box with phenomenal potential to be the blockbuster star of the nano range …

Right??

Like i want to buy it and immediately dump my ā€œAll the synth samples from Marsā€ collection straight in and get some polyphonic awesomeness going haha

BUT … no filter envelope, no beuno
