Tangerine from 1010 Music

I’ve already got a 1TB card in it with my sample vault

Just a few key firmware leaps and it’s a dream box for use with any groovebox, sequencer etc.
Ideal with elektrons with midi tracks. Sound quality is A1.

Even by itself it will be a great 8 track mix-up idea planner with its onboard sequencer tool - if only i could hear wavs when browsing the card…

Yeah I want to incorporate it into my dawless setup!

Do I understand correctly, that you can send the tangerine midi program changes to load up different ‘presets’? And each of those presets can have 8 slots with a different thing in each slot?

haven’t tried it yet, but in the manual

Yeah guess I should just RTFM. Haha.

Man…it’s like an unlimited multi-sampled synth box in an extremely portable form factor. Pretty amazing

think i need to resave presets with midi channel set so as to experiment with this externally sequenced as the factory ones are not set

This one’s just killer with the OP-1 Field - I did a first experiment with them together.

Two loops running on the tangerine at one octave lowered pitch from original source (being the Field), with some ambient recordings to boost. OP-1 loop runs in free form from Tangerine, tweaked live for effect. TX-6 mixer is used as … well, a mixer, but also for live fx to get that broken feeling on the piano.

Damn, these two workflows combined. It’s just out of this world. And it all runs on batteries - cause the goddam Field powers the Tangerine -

“presets are mapped to midi channels in alphabetical order” confuses me. Each preset has its own midi channel?!

haven’t even got there yet … but with digitakt is amazing. for my brain easier to start with the more mechanical digitakt sequencer!

manually (on the Tangerine) switching presents while an ext sequencer is playing is pretty fast, feels like under a second.

I love using the op1f with the 1010 nano boxes. It’s so damn convenient.

Are you playing the tangerine with the op1f keys?

No, I just sample OP-1 stuff into it and then make loops and sequences out of it. Works like a charm :slightly_smiling_face:

I mean you had been talking about it a lot lately.

seems a bit strange on the Tangerine that pad CC are all locked to the same designated ‘global channel’ in the global conf settings? rather than per channel?

Really cool. Are you telling me there’s no chase bliss in this!?

None.

A small part of me is starting to seriously consider slimming down.

I tend to do that a lot. Talk, that is.
