Yep, a granular synth and granular fx than can do rhythmical stuff. Can be a sampler too.
S4 is a sampler with a good granular fx and other fx. But it isnât a granular synth.
I returned it.

Finally FEDEX turned up!
First feedbackâŚutterly random thoughts after an hour.
A bit lighter than I expected (not a bad thing)
One of the most beautiful light shows and super clear screens!
Considering the cost, Should ship with a MIDI cable (had to hunt around for a jack to midiâŚfrustrating)
Pretty easy to use (although I did read the manual before it came and made a few notes)
Midi timing with Syntakt seems great.
It sounds fantastic (maybe I should have led with that ;-)) The âsynthâ folder canvas presets (like âwavedancer alphaâ) and a simple syntakt beat = 
Its the most fun out of the box I have had for a long time (and I have a lot of toys)
How do you know what canvas is currently loaded, doesnât seem to be any indication (screen shows 3 )

And looking for advices to avoid clicks with Live Grains recording mode.
I noticed that there were more clicks reaching end of last cell for instance.
Less clicks with 100% reverse.

Yes, very happy so far- of course the honeymoon period will end, but so far I have a big smile on my face and that what this is all about for me
This seems far more âplayableâ than the S-4, more of an instrument which suits my modular workflow (keep tweaking until I find something I like!) and its far prettier than the S-4 that for sure!
I havent tried it as a live effect effect (I am actually a guitarist so this is a big deal for me) or sampled anything myself, still finding my way around and jamming outâŚits very immediate and quite intuitive (but I had longer to read the manual than you ;-))

Yep. 12V center positive. 
I have a ripcord and I tested asap day one.
I also use my Elektron psus with it.
The USB Host can power Micromonsta 2 or Linnstrument, Tonex One for guitarâŚ

only AD or AR is possible by using one of the modulators. The ADSR is only for the global volume.
Theoretically, you should be able to exclude clicks with the âgrain envelopeâ. But to be honest, I havenât gotten around to trying out the live grain mode yet ⌠maybe itâs different there, but nothing clicks with samples if you donât want it to and set the grain envelope accordingly âsoftâ.
The still unfixed lemondrop clicks are a completely different story

I had clicks even with finished recordings, with internal mic. Soft grain enveloppe.
Maybe something weird in the recording.
Let us know your thoughts once experimented ! I also noticed more live grains clicks with Tempera slaved with midi clock.
So I used it master.

ThanksâŚyes, you can loose yourself in a canvas for a long time! I put a couple of feature requests on discord.
Have the small on screen keyboard on as default but toggled off (so when loading any new canvas you can just shift key aft to access). Maybe an option in settings (most of the canvasses I downloaded have on scree. Keyboard set off so you have to go to settings and turn it on for every patc h if you donât have a midi keyboard plugged in)
Be able to save and load emitter set ups
Not much of a wish list after several days, itâs pretty amazing as is!
Have you tried the latest beta? (I havenât as still learning 2.1)
