I love this logo so much. I once made a bootleg of it for a t-shirt to gift to a friend from school with whom I’d shared many formative techno experiences. Years later, and still 4-5years ago now, I bought a used vinyl copy of Mixmaster Morris’ “Global Chillage”. it came with a label merchandise “catalog” on A4. I showed this off (more than the record) to that friend and others from the same phase. A couple of years later, one of them presented me with a genuine Rising High tee they’d found on eBay!
I have a few of these records. Great logo. I agree.
Indeed. Although it’s interesting because it’s a logo that is worn as a badge of honour by some and hidden with black gaffer tape by others.
Metallica’s 90s logo was pretty stylish imo. Their original one was great too, but there’s something kinda sophisticated about the one they used on the albums everyone loves to hate.
Plus that ninja star device is great.
The Fallen logo always reminds me of Fear Factory, though some research tells me Fear Factory didn’t use that style of logo until 2004, while Fallen had it in 2003…
Perhaps, I guess in a lot of cases loving the brand/product/band itself can lead to associating a less good logo with positive feelings (I know it’s likely with my Metallica example above—I grew up with their 90s albums).
That is such a good logo, nice one! Are you a high profile designer or did you land the gig through an agency or something?
@braken reminds me of Orbis records:
@pselodux yeah that one is great, earlier Metallica the better!
@fuseball GREAT logo
Interesting - what is that, a floppy disk?
Yeah. It’s the logo for the esteemed 12k label
Not the most exciting logo in the world or company for that matter. And I think I can safely say no one here will know it but I always enjoyed the simplicity of my old man’s companies logo. Nice and neat.
Up against a lot of the other local tradesmen/company efforts, it’s simplicity stood out.
Another local one that often gets wide recognition and plaudits is my football club’s badge:
The image over the football is the town centers “famous” steeple that you can generally see from all over the area. “We are the steeple” often sang in response to Rangers’ gear grinding “We are the people” chants at games.
