The Octatrack is amazing

common detour for seasoned Octatrack professionals

Welcome back!

I’ve had major gas for an OT again after selling mine a while back. Same story you always hear. Love hate. Mostly love.

I used to tell a friend of mine. The Octatrack is where ideas go to die… only to be reborn!

Oh this is so true!

So many times I’ve brought in things made with Ableton, compiled into a stem chain. Just wanting to remake on the OT what I already made elsewhere.
But every damn time it turns into something more interesting, more musical, more compelling, and more fun to play.

Hard not to get excited about making music when you know you’re just an hour away from exploding what you already thought was great into something even better…

You don’t play the Octatrack, the Octatrack plays you!

Armed with the knowledge I’ve gained in the past two months, I revisited a project I made a while ago and finished it into a complete track. Well, there’s still some polishing to do, but it’s close. The Arranger really helps me get stuff over the finish line.

Looking forward to riding the archive of unfinished projects as well as creating lots of new ones. Octatrack is the gift that keeps on giving.

Ahhh shucks, I missed you all to… I’m doin good. My wormhole adventure is a long story but it’s current chapter finds me with a nice room in a cool spot with my studio setup and good WiFi, so here I am!

I’m almost back too. What’s up nauts. I miss my Octatrack and have been watching videos again. On the fence of waiting for the standard black or pickung up a cheaper grey one.

I’m gonna go black next time I jump in. New skin every time.

Yeah the black looks better for sure. I like it even more than the anniversary. Better contrast on lettering. (Although the red record buttons are nice). But hard to justify possibly a 300 dollar difference. Bunch of silver ones going for around 1100. And by the time the black comes out they should come down. Would not be surprised if i can find one for 900. Plus i am thinking of getting one of those skins for it. A white Octatrack would look sick.

Oh yeah, I wonder if that Dick Malibu guy is still making custom panels? Been 5 years since last activity on his thread.

One of his red OTs is on Reverb, racked with a Rytm via EIT-1.

Seller won’t split up though. Been listed for several months.
