After spending a good month with the digitakt I’ve discovered far more ways to get creative than I thought was possible on this box! I feel comfortable enough now that I’m looking into midi controllers, keyboards, pedals, really anything I can plug in to juice some more expression out of the digitakt.
What do you all use with your digitakt and why do you dig it? What styles of music do you use them for?
I just have a small keyboard plugged in for note input and plock preview. For expressiveness you could look into the expressive E touché though.
The Linnstrument is super duper awesome!
And the DT let’s you map four macros each to pitch, volume, mod wheel, and aftertouch so that’s sweet.
Yeah! I have seen that expressive e touche, it looks like a lot of fun, expecialy used with a keyboard and the DT. I’m going to do more looking into that.
The linnstrument is pretty great plus all those pads are just flat out sexy haha. Little more than I’m wanting to spend but I’ll keep it in the wish list
Lots of people are using the launch control XL to great effect… more for direct control than expressiveness, but it’s a cheap “add-on”
I have a video up here somewhere showing the beatstep pro paired with a digitakt. Can’t find it right now, I’m literally DJing an all Michael Jackson night at the moment and reading on here between tracks. Shame on me
Alright, Yeah definitely can see having a launchpad control would make recording and shows much more fluid. When I record I like to chop and screw around with the fx to my liking, having all that on a separate device would be so nice. spinning knobs starts to feel a bit overwelming when you also want to fade out or in other sounds simultaneously. Thinking of what this would open up paired with a digitakt, I’m going to research this.
