Track one = 4 voice poly, track two cannot be mono with glide?

Hello everyone, i’m new here, just got my analog four about 10 days ago, been playing with it non-stop, but i’ve ran into a wall.

I’m actually using it as a synth + midi keyboard for my live band, every song has its kit, and a kit has four tracks, so i switch between tracks as if they are patch sounds for the song, all songs use less than four different sounds so i can manage this perfectly.

One thing though, let’s say the first song on the set requires a nice pad, so track 1 will be a nice pad using all 4 notes of polyphony, the next sound is a monosynth portamento type sound, for the life of my, i can’t figure how to make that sound, it’s like the kit is either completely mono or completely poly.

I could just dedicate a voice to its corresponding track, hence having a track only playing that one voice and having the portamento work, but then the other tracks won’t have 4 voices.

Is it possible to have track one as a four voice poly and track two as a monophonic one voice synth with portamento (glide) activated ? if so, how ??

Thanks.

I’m pretty sure that the closest you’ll get is by having just three voices for the poly patch, it’s not ideal but at least you’d get your mono patch behaving correctly.
I’d like a way to quickly toggle full poly on and off, that would be so useful.

no, you’re right… this doesn’t work. tracks either belong to the poly group or they don’t.

well… you probably figured that out, what you can do is just make another kit for your mono-portamento sound.
or, change the poly setup of the kit during your performane.

+1 for poly setup should be more quickly accessible.

Well what i’d love to see is just an option per track where you can select if you want the sound to be played monophonically (one voice or unison with number of voices) or polyphonically, without having to sacrifice a voice to the track, i mean, if you go to another track and play some sounds, all four voices are available as long as the mono (or unison) track is not doing anything.

Anyone knows what is the proper procedure to suggest this option in a future update ?

There’s a feature request thread in the forum, you could also try sending an email.

An insta-poly button, and/or a quick way to toggle track’s poly allocation, would be great. The trip from sound browser to the poly config can get a bit annoying.

I little shortcut I recently discovered. - Function + Kit, then scroll down to Poly Config. Then you can use the first four trigs to add or remove tracks from the poly group.
