VCV rack MIDI out?

I can’t find a definitive answer online, or missed it.

Can you get MIDI out of VCV Rack? So like CV from VCV sequencers converted to MIDI out to control hardware?

In my mind, I picture VCV Rack on a laptop next to my hardware as an incredible, cheap, all-kind-of sequencing machine.

Maybe throw in TouchOSC for “knobs and faders”? Anyone done that?

This is exciting, I don’t know how I haven’t heard of it before now.

Yep. There are three “Core” modules that are included in VCV Rack for outputting midi.

https://vcvrack.com/manual/Core#MIDI-output-modules

There’s a modules that outputs several different midi messages like notes, aftertouch, pitchbend, mod wheel - CV-Midi

And there’s one that converts cv from VCV Rack to midi cc- CV-CC

And another one converts gates to midi note on/off - CV-Gate

thank you,
Yeah, I finally found some YouTube videos dedicated to this.

I’m stunned.

Got everything working, this is incredible.

I feel like I just opened up a whole world of sequencing and control.

I can really see why people are into the modular world. I think using VCV rack for utility/sequencing/etc with my analog synths as sound sources is just an incredibly powerful combination.
And unlike modular, saving patches this easily really appeals to me.

I think the next thing on my hit list won’t be synth stuff, but controllers. Maybe FaderFox? Or some other “knobby” controller? I think I like the idea of FaderFox just for the labeling.
