I’ve just purchased a Digitakt that I use exclusively in Logic X (audio and midi). However, im having an issue with the volume of both my midi and audio Digi tracks being so so so low (you can barely hear them without putting a compressor or expender its crazy). I’ve put the master, track and amp volume to the max on the digitakt but its still a big issue (but im maybe missing another setting?).
I’ve never had this issue with my other instruments (moog synths+korg synths) and tried switching the inputs on my focusrite 18i8 to check if the problem came from the sound card but the synths work fine on all the inputs so I must be missing something here. Im really frustrated and this is my first drum machine & sampler so im eager to turn it out in my projects but im lost for a solution…
Please post an update if you have solved the issue. I am not using Overbridge nor any software but kind of experiencing the same issue with the low volume during playback.
Digitakt OS: 1.11 Beta 6 / Master Volume: Center / Track Level: 127
At least the BETA OS you are using has an “INT to MAIN” setting (in the USB config I guess) which can be used to disable the routing of internal track sounds to MAIN. Maybe this setting is wrong whatever reason and influences the non-Overbridge use case, too?
Also check if Overbridge USB mode is enabled when you just run it standalone. It may also help to disable it.
I tried running with just audio cables and with the midi+audio cables plugged in. It didnt really change anything and I do not use any kind of preamp software or mixing table software
Have you tried connecting a familiar audio device such as a synth to your daw via exactly the same path?
This could isolate that the suspected problem is definitely the DT’s outputs levels.
hi mokomo, yes I have done that and there is not problem with the synths… I checked the cables as well to make sure they were not faulty. Im also sure this is coming forom the DGTKT because I have the same issue when just playing with it as a standalone instrument with just my headphones plugged straight into it…
absolutely, since the very first time I turned it on I noticed the issue. I really thought it was my soundcard but now that I proofed check im sure thats not it.
