Heard nothing during NAMM and still the Holiday Sale on News on the website … ?!
They’ve got a lineup of successful products that they’re selling, and more products in development. OB2 is in public beta and appears to be getting close to a stable release. That’s pretty much the state of affairs.
Musikmesse is in 2 months…
There’s a new bag!
From measurements, looks like it can fit two mk1s plus an MS, or 2 Analog MK2s, or a Digitone Keys. or 4 (maybe 5?) digi modules.
Hooray backpack straps.
yeah we just need less new boxes and more impactful OS updates like the recent one for analogs
Messe? Superbooth, more like.
I wouldn’t mind a couple of new features on the DT and a couple of bug fixes on the DN.
I’m sure time stretch is out of the question on the DT for CPU reasons, but it certainly would be nice to have internal MIDI loopback, per-track sequencer playback direction (FW/REV/PP/RND), some EQ capabilities, some melodic tools (transpose. arp, scales, etc), stereo monitoring through fx, etc.
Not sure I personally really need more Elektron gear. I would probably get tempted if something new arrived. But don’t really need it. Actually, I don’t really need any synth-company to tempt me with new gear.
I really just need to spend more time with the gear I already have.
To me, it is actually a quality that a company decides not to produce new gear all the time.
Lets all agree on buying fewer things of higher quality. And then spend time learning them in depth. Instead of just merely unboxing new gear all the time

Not that I want more gear, the market is already saturated but to me, still having Holiday Sale on your website at the end on January is quite worrying.
Hello, Is anybody there ?!
I have it directly from a non connected source outside of Elektron that you have nothing to worry about.
Oh yeah. If they continue to improve OS by adding 3 band EQ per track and an arpegiator I will be very happy
They are a tiny shop in Sweden, competing successfully with decades old conglomerates. Their flagship sampler, almost 10 years old, is still selling at full price. How many iterations of MPC have Akai released during this time, and how much have they lowered the price of the current flagship (Live) since release? New products can cannibalize the sales of existing products which are still selling really well. Long product cycles are way more profitable than short ones if your products have the longevity. I’m guessing that not only should we not worry, but that this company is a textbook success story in this industry.
yeah even if they had to make you optionally give up some midi tracks to free up CPU for some extra features on a per track basis I would be pretty stoked, probably goes against the idea of simplifying the workflow though.
I did hear that elektron was taking private meetings of some sort at NAMM wouldnt be at all shocked to see a new box as soon as superbooth.
I still think something is coming. But whatever it is, it wasnt ready to be announced at NAMM. Other music gear conventions coming, still plenty of time to release stuff this year
But yeh, as already stated in this thread, not sure what else from elektron I’d need… aside from a master performance mixer station type of a product. Combining A4 with my minilog XD alone is going to keep me busy for a while!
Huh? The last post always stays up until the next post, whether it’s a new pack or an interview or a sale or whatever. It is still January, and that sale ran through January 6th… there is nothing unusual or worrying about it in any way.
I guess you’re looking at the news feed of https://elektronauts.com which just shows the latest post, and there hasn’t been another post since the sale.
If you look at their actual website – https://elektron.se – there’s no “old news” on the front page, so you can relax.
I think the best thing you can do as a manufacturer in their position is release improved versions of old things people love while at the same time pushing the envelope… Mk II was a great idea though didn’t add much in the way fo features. Digitakt/Digitone don’t need Mk II (yet). The Octatrack is legendary and its Mk II was just a hardware update. I think an updated Octatrack (Digitrack) with new feature set would do very well, so I’d guess they have that in mind, as well as more Model series for the lower end of the market. It’s definitely crazy to think they’re not working on new hardware, especially since it’s been confirmed AFAIK?
Yeah, you’re right. My bad, happily !
If they can financially rest on a family of machines while they do updates for those machines and take their time on something new I and my wallet can live with that (especially my wallet). I’ve still got a longer list of Elektrons I’ve not owned than owned. And let’s be honest, once you’ve had one, you kinda want the rest.
Didn’t Cuckoo put up a picture of a box that looked like packaging for a Model:Something? I swear he did that before NAMM.
