Woo: the greatest band no-one seems to know?

Any Woo-heads here? I saw recently that their music is now on Spotify although a lot of it has been on bandcamp for years now. Anyways, I was listening to their Into the Heart of Love release and came to the conclusion that Badly Drawn Boy’s album Hour of the Bewilder Beast which I very much liked when it came out pretty much is a more polished Woo tribute album and present these tracks below as proof. I don’t know any band that does this sort of lo-fi childlike music with such sincerity and genuine weirdness that I actually want to listen to. Guided by Voices always managed to guide me to listen to something else… Also, here’s a nice interview with them for those who might be interested. It’s nice when two brothers make music together and don’t end up hating each other…

Never heard of them until very recently when a track or two from When the Past Arrives was played on one of the NTS shows i listen to, so immediately bought that album. Love it. Still know next to nothing about them or the rest of their discography tho

Can’t remember how I discovered them but I have since bought several Lps and they are all on heavy rotation here. Such serene peaceful yet psychedelic music.

Boom boom satellites
I prefer their dubby break tracks rather than the vocodo oasis rock things , they they have a good back catalogue … almost made it big ( as in prodigy / chemical brothers big ) outside of Japan.

Mansun, hands down. These guys were active around early Radiohead and it’s really hard to choose the better album between OK Computer and Mansun’s Six. Angelic voice; a guitar style like I’ve never heard elsewhere. Ah… love these guys.
