testament to the eurorack world right there… you got your first modules, had some questions/issues, I told you take it easy before expanding… you went from half a Doepfer road case to one and a half. in twenty-three days. #eurorack
Yup well I have more than enough to keep me busy for at least a year or two. Master the two racks of modules and use with my two Elektron boxes then have a great rig. The IME/Harvestman and Noise Engineering modules are tons of fun and my favorites thus far. Crazy tones that are quite unique. Fortunately the modules on my wish list: Piston Honda MK3 and Hertz Donut MK3 are not available for a while so that puts GAS on hold and the IME Double Andore MK3 has not come out yet. One can never have enough VCAs, logic or utility modules. That is one thing unique to modular the need for lots of utilities and support modules that are not required to be added in hardware synths.
I am trying to build a custom system based on the erica synths techno system with inputs for some external synths and nerd seq instead of the drum sequencer! also less drum modules to pair with my Rytm and DN, wondering if anyone has any thoughts or opinions/suggestions because I don’t have many modular friends.
I really dig the Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter (BIA) module in my setup for percussion. It is superb and capable of many drum tones at once if you trigger and patch it to LFOs, gates and clocks. It is literally a one army percussion force to be reckoned with. I can get a decent bass and drum patch going with the BIA and Malekko Richter Anti-Oscillator into my Dual Borg Filter or Erica Synths Polivoks filter. That is only 3 modules for solid acid bass drum sounds. The rest I use my Octatrack for claps and snares as drum modular would cost me a fortune and I’d rather explore other weird modules like Kermit and so forth in modular land. Here is an example of what it can do by itself:
Hey,
my almost finished modular. Haha, a modular system is never finished. But I transformed my setup to this. A sampler, a very lovely vco (Trident) and a Panharmonium. A few effects, also outboard. My filter is still to come.
So far I love it.
great question still exploring that feature. So deep a module. I think that Kermit, Bionic Lester and Intellijel Quadrax are the most complex modules to learn thus far in my two basic setups. Probably will take me at least a year to feel comfortable with everything. At least that keeps the GAS and spending at bay even though I’d love to add a Hertz Donut, Stillson Hammer and Double Andore to the setup for a complete IME orange theme.
I think about getting a Linneaus or a Blue Lantern, which is up on ebay right now. Looked up the bionic lester. Looks exactly like that what I want. It is similar to the blue Lantern.
I’ve decided to join you guys and get started on a modular project. I’m looking for a minimal viable product that can interact with a dark trinity OT, RYTM and A4.
I really enjoy makeing ambient music with the modular. here is a performance I recorded exploring micro sound techniques.
I must say, I was not sure to keep the Mimeophone. But then, if you modulate and performe it by hand it makes fun and guide you to happy accidents and stuff. I like to explore it!
(yeah camera angel is not the best … it´s the Qpas on the left top corner - just tweaking the filter knob)
