The only reason I’m getting physical is so I can pass my dad the copy when he needs something to do in the winter.
Which reminds me, I need to tell him not to buy the game- in the morning

Spider Heck, Monaco, what’yours is mine…
Gems I missed…
Sooo, do we need a spoiler free Tears of the Kingdom thread and a spoiler thread or would you prefer to keep it in here? I guess a lot of us will be really excited and the game seems ideal for sharing our adventures and impressions. All my gamer friends are not Nintendo fans, so I would love to share it with you. Also to check how much playing it bogs down our music making :D.
Without hijacking this thread has anyone tried the Miyoo Mini or Mini Plus?
They’re under €100,- but I’m not sure if it’s comfortable to play for 1 or 2 hours.
I’m not a big gamer and I find most Nintendo titels too childish but getting one of those emulator devices that can play old Nintendo games (and others) might be fun having.
we need a thread. this game will ignite a bomb of a discussion everywhere I guess
There you go:
By the end of the game its revealed that Link’s mother was actually dead, and that he carried out the murders believing himself to be her
(Psycho)
Edit: please stop mentioning worrying about spoilers, I don’t know how many more of these I can make
Thanks for the tip! I just bought it and it’s downloading. Don’t want to be the one to tell his kids, sorry we have to wait until saturday because dad was stupid.
Downloading… time remaining 3 hours 18 minutes? And it seems like it stagnates. The servers might already be struggling. Now it’s 3 hours 32 minutes. Hopefully it will be downloaded until friday…
I’m worried about the process of downloading 1.1.0
Make sure you quit your current game and then sleep the console for optimal downloading.
Should be a few more than three hours until Friday, unless you live in one of those weird time zones.
I broke down and preordered a digital copy as well so that I don’t have to fight others for the download. Best Buy apparently won’t be shipping mine until the day of release, and I really want to at least get through the first couple of hours without getting inadvertently spoiled, and be able to share the wonder with others. I’m debating canceling my physical copy - it’s not like it will be a hard game to get a hold of physically in the relatively near future.
I’m dealing with the labyrinth in the snow mountains right now, in BoTW. Warming up before the winter, so to speak.
Which makes no sense, since it’s summer here.
But it sounded nice so there.
It says 2 hours and 53 minutes now but it’s at 40% already. So something’s off but i think i’ll manage to have it downloaded before friday.
I finished Majora’s Mask the other week on my childhood N64. Enjoyed for a while but felt like a bit of a chore towards the end if I’m being honest!
Got a Switch now and planning on building up to Botw and Totk. Any recommendations for post-N64 ones available on the store?
I think your only options for post N64 Zelda on the switch store are:
Botw
Skyward Sword remake
And Links Awakening remake(sorta is and isn’t post N64)
botw is pretty cool.
Skyward Sword controls felt tedious to me
And I’m not a big fan of 2d Zelda.
There’s Age of Calamity, which is a spinoff of botw
(Might want to play botw and totk before that one is wager)
There’s also a Zelda rhythm game whos name i can’t remember.
The other Zelda games before botw aren’t yet available on switch
Oh damn I thought the game cube and wii/u ones were available! Like Wind Waker which I thought looked cool at the time but never played. Skyward Sword looks alright. Maybe I should just jump into Botw
That would be my recommendation
Yeah it’s weird TP and WW aren’t on Switch yet. Maybe Nintendos next console will have them again.
BOTW is a big jump from the old Majoras Mask days. It’s not traditional in the sense you need to complete dungeons to get items to progress, it’s completely open and you can go anywhere.
It’s nice for different reasons tho. Hanging on a beach collecting crabs, treasure chest hunting in Hyrule field. I honestly can’t go back to the old Zelda’s now, so yeah, maybe it makes sense to play them before you hit BOTW. But you might have to pick up retro second hand consoles at this point.
Firewatch rocks, thanks for that tip!
What remains of Edith Finch was very cool, but also very very short. First time played a couple of hours and my second run lasted 15 minutes, I guess
