Anything by TDR.
- 1 for U-He freebies (TrippleCheese, Podolski, Tyrell, Zebralette) All available as VST3.
Also +1 for Valhalla (simple UI and great reverb/delay)
I forgot the amazing Airwindows plugins, I especially like the console/tape inspired saturators.
Ugh I love this one, no idea how it works it’s pure black magic
this is my new favourite plugin company, thanks
Hands down u-he is my favorite developer, next definitely Valhalla.
This is handy, what are the three columns for after the names?
I recently had need for a few plug ins and found it really hard to find ones that worked with apple silicon/64 bit.
although clap is not complete
Wow this is super handy - thanks! (I also somewhat organise my paid plugins like this!)
Rez synth is great and probably my fave - resonant filter bank with midi note input like a vocoder - put a breakbeat through it and send it some midi notes (chords work well!) and you get lovely resonant tails…
The breaks in this tune’s intro and breakdowns are put through it:
Listen to Thornton Force - Practical Lessons by Thornton Force on #SoundCloud
Their other fx are also decent but takes time to find the sweet spots - worth the effort though!
Can confirm ToTape6 is fantastic
Airwindows are great, but there’s too many to choose from! ChrisJ is the Joyce Carol Oates of plugin devs.
Yeah I downloaded and thought “how many?!” I wonder if any have specifically good feedback.
His threads on Gearspace are a good place to get some general idea of which ones people are enjoying. He also has a youtube channel, but the videos tend to run long, and there’s one for nearly every new plugin so it’s almost a full-time job trying to filter all that information. At least the price is right!
This pdf is only the exported selection of ‘my’ free plugins (I have paid ones too), the free ones that I have installed and use regularly. So it is non-exhaustive whatsoever.
I see some nice suggestions in this thread: my personal sheet is in fact a living document
public beta for Zebralette 3 (Revision 15573)
came across this very nice spectrum analyzer, don’t recall it being mentioned anywhere, it has a free version which is very cool, the paid version has more slots/bands but the free one works perfectly fine.
It’s nice to have another free option that has peak frequency detection. (MAnalyzer from Melda being the only one I’m aware of?!)
Not sure if I can get used to the very “technical” design of the plugin, though.
