Oxi One Hardware Sequencer

I got my email from Oxi Instruments today informing that my One will be shipped in the next few weeks. Excite!

I’m interested to hear from UK 'nauts what they paid for shipping.

Proper teaser for a brand new mode :slightly_smiling_face: by @rgb3

I was really interested when I watched that video on stochastic sequencing, truth be told I’d never heard of such a method before! Sounds great, looking forward to pairing with Spitfire and Kontakt libraries!

I see as well a fellow UK backer received theirs and didn’t pay additional VAT, great news!

Just put in an order after reflecting on it over the last 9 months or so. Really excited. To clarify, bc the MIDI is class compliant I can just plug it straight into an iPad for an extremely flexible travel setup, yeah?

You don’t even need the cable using Bluetooth (also battery powered), but yeah it works.

wow, that’s gonna be fun as hell. not to mention my intended purpose for it which is basic eurorack / midi sequencing capabilities for my at home studio. and the forthcoming cartesian sequencing mode makes me feel less bad about selling my rene v2 recently.

I just realized that I can use the Oxi One as a Bluetooth (iPad) to CV converter… mind blown on what a tremendous utility add-on that is. So many little details you all thought of

Now that everyone’s talking about using this with their iPad, Oxi has jumped back to the top of my short hardware wishlist.

Is anyone using Keyboard Mode much, perhaps even with an iPad? I’ve whittled my setup down to basically my opsix, QY70 and (tons of) iOS apps and synths, so something to connect and control it all easily would be so sick. (pardon if I missed discussion about it above)

Received my shipping notification, will be here Monday.

What? That too? And I thought I was up to date with the Oxi
@OxiInstruments Any ETA of the firmware with the new mode(s)?

On their website, they’ve got a section titled ALL IN (OXI) ONE and at the bottom some copy that says And more modes comming in future Firmware Updates: Cartesian, Melodic Steps, Curve….

Excellent :+1:

Found info on the Stochastic mode on the site:

  • Create a sound palette by choosing the probability for each note in a scale to be played.
  • The set probability will also have an influence on how the rhythm evolves
  • This probability can be modulated by internal and external sources to evolve the pattern over time
  • You can lock independently rhythm from pitch or adjust the amount of randomization to create evolving melodic motifs.
  • The time division can also be randomised !
  • All randomisation and modulation options existing in the OXI One are working just as in the other sequencer modes
  • Loop on different parts to focus on specific generated melodic ideas
  • Save your recipes and make a song out of it with the Arranger!
  • Full CV and Gate support for modular delight

My Oxi One is our for delivery today, woohoo! Hope the delivery truck doesn’t blow over, it’s unbelievably windy out here today with red weather warnings the result of Storm Eunice

Well, if you live in Limburg it will not be a problem. But living near the coastline(like me), most deliveries are stopped for today.

Or did you already have received it?

I think he lives in the UK, not NL

I have it! Lovely build quality, nice raised squishy pads, bright LEDs (brightness can be reduced) and best of all, it smells really good.

However, I cannot get it to send MIDI notes to anything! I can see something is going in to the Virus as the screen shows activity but no sound is made… Same with the Pulsar-23, the MIDI light flashes but can’t get any of the modules to 'learn" the notes I play. Very very odd.

Edit: it is now sending MIDI notes, no idea what I was doing wrong.
