Push 3 Users Thread

Yeah great idea to have a demo workshop for sure

I attended their event at the Berlin HQ and despite the short test window (30’) that decided me to get the controller version :+1:t3:

Recently Ableton open his office on Barcelona and had some Push 3 for the people test. I think will be the same on this events. First the demo and then you can try

Ableton has an office in Barcelona??

Here you can look up all upcoming Push 3 events

United Kingdom
Australia
France
Germany
Italy
Japan
Netherlands
Spain

Ableton has its headquarters in Berlin and official offices in LA & Tokyo.

But like any company you don’t have to have an official office in a city to organize events.

okay, cool :ok_hand:t2:

Jay, Do you still own the push 3?

I do! I have tried to go back to it a couple of times to make music, but it’s really not set up from the hop for performance. To build the set I made, for example, required a lot of macros and prep, which was great for a whole set, but harder to justify when I’m simply exploring and making single songs.

I love its computer/hardware integration, and then untethering at the last second for live performance, but working on the device and its stock synths aren’t quite for me. As such, it’s so far made more sense to use a lot of third-party stuff in the box, freeze it (or make loops/stems in another DAW), and then build performance effects with a combination of the stock effects and M4L devices (like Multimap). I’ll get back to it one of these days, but I’m in my busy semester, and working on the Push 3 isn’t as quick as my other devices.

Thanks for getting back with me Jay. Love your music. Very nice. I still have Push 2 mostly use it for hands off the mouse (since I have hand issues from years in IT). I tend to use 3rd party VSTs myself and some are NKS enabled but I don’t use that much NI stuff. So I am not sure Push 3 is for me yet or the Kontrol Mk3 keyboard. The choices are certainly more difficult when you use a bit of this and that. I sure wish Ableton Push 3 could browse 3rd party VSTs like NKS does. Lol. Best of luck with your busy semester.

If you’re not for the stand alone and already with the push 2 not big change. There’re some things that are very very good for me like the session clips view on the screen. The option to have the clips view and the note mode at the same time.

Session clips is nice advantage.

I had a max app from sigabort so many years ago that did the same on the Push 2.

Hi Guys,

How have you been making your own MPE drums? I have loads of converted NI kits but I’d like to make them a bit more expressive. Are there quick ways?

Curious as it’s been out a little while now, anyone got some examples of finished tracks they’ve made with their new Push? I’m using mine regularly but it’s not found its way into my releases yet.

Never been so happy to be a moron!

Doublecheck your Exclusive Arm settings.

Derp ahead! Retained for posterity.

Please tell me what a dummy I am and that it actually is possible to record audio into two separate Clips on Push 3 Standalone, with each Clip receiving one channel of the inputs. :grimacing:

This one was started and about 80% finished on Push. Then some back and forth between Push and Mac. I’m planning to polish it a bit on a computer before releasing though….
